Evo-Tree allows a current population of trees to evolve with the climate conditions that are specified by the user, this is all done with the use of a genetic algorithm.
With climate change being a very difficult issue we can't forget how it will effect plant life. According to Research led by Sam Myers, Director of the Planetary Health Alliance at the Harvard Chan School, found that when food crops like wheat, corn, rice and soy are exposed to CO2 at levels predicted for 2050, the plants lose as much as 10% of their zinc, 5% of their iron, and 8% of their protein content.
Real world simulations are currently aiding us to see what can and will in current natural systems, Evo-Tree is no exception. Evo-Tree can be used in a more professional setting where we can try to predict what can happen to plants(Trees) which can possibly affect us as a human race. Yet another tool to aid us in understanding climate change just a bit more.
